Smart Rivers Network: New funding for water management project in Republic of Moldova
The evaluation commission with Central Europe Initiative, (CEI call2017 KEP Italy) has recently approved funding for the Project "SMART RIVER GOVERNANCE 2.0: IMPLEMENTATION OF THE BOTNA RIVER CONTRACT FOR INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT OF RIVER AREAS.( Acronym: SMA.RI.GO.2.0. The project in 2018 will be sponsored by Italian Foreign Affairs Ministry.
The Project applicant (main know-how provider) is ALTA SCUOLA, member of Smart River network Action Group 224, in partnership with the Consulting Company Ecoazioni (Italy); the Know-how beneficiaries are institutions and other stakeholders from Republic of Moldova: the Agentia’’ Apele Moldovei’’ together with Technical University of Moldova, NGO Caroma Nord, Moldova, State Enterprise Basin Water Management Authority of Moldova.
The project propose dissemination and sharing of good practices and innovative technologies for water resource management in small river basins in Moldova in order to improve water management among the partners and to spread the European Innovation Partnership on Water within the Action Group "Participatory European network on Water Governance Smart Rivers Network " through the implementation of a River Contract in a prototype river basin to demonstrate the feasibility and usefulness of this new governance tool.
