Registration Social Events and Site Visits - EUWIC 2019

To compensate the travel related CO2-footprint, we would like to know where your travel originates and how you travel to Zaragoza. More information about the sustainable event can be found here.

The local host invites all conference participants to a welcome reception sponsored by Dupont on December 11, 19:00-21:00 in Zaragoza city centre at the Caja Rural Building by courtesy of Caja Rural de Aragón. Drinks and snacks are provided.

On December 12, at around 18:30 - immediately following the conference – you are invited to participate in a cocktail/networking event sponsored by Tervalis at the conference venue. Drinks and snacks are provided.

Site visit registration

EIP Water is pleased to announce that the following organisations are kindly offering site visits to a range of innovative and state-of-the-art water management facilities for conference participants, free of charge: Ebro River Basin Authority, ARPA EMC, Ingeobras, Cervezas Ambar, Gobierno de Aragón, General Irrigation Community of Alto Aragón, Spanish Institution of Civil Engineers. The site visits will take place on Friday 13th of December. The organisers will follow up with further information such as the confirmation, exact time of departure and meeting place. Please beware that seating is limited. Registration will therefore be handled on a first come, first served basis.

The personal data collected during the event "EU Water Innovation Conference 2019" and all related side events may be further processed by the contractor of the European Commission, Fresh-Thoughts Consulting GmbH: 1. for event handling (registration, catering, venue,…) 2. Use of photos for public brochures/event website(s) that are created within the scope of the contract. 3. The use of the list of participants for invitations to further events.

The EU Water Innovation Conference 2019 and all related side events will also be recorded for future reference on a variety of platforms including film and photography. By agreeing to participate in the EU Water Innovation Conference 2019 and all related side events and checking the box, participants are deemed to have given their consent to be filmed and photographed, and to any subsequent reproduction, public communication and/or broadcast of the material by the European Commission or any person duly licensed by it.

    Presentation of the real time monitoring system and decision support system used by the Ebro River Basin Authority for water management. More information can be found here.

  • SITE VISIT 2 - Casa Blanca Old Mill and Locks at the Imperial Canal

    Presentation of the past and present of the Imperial Canal and the Ebro River Basin Authority by means of the water interpretive center implemented in the Casablanca Old Mill. More information can be found here.

  • SITE VISIT 3 - Ebro Resilience Strategy

    Presentation of Ebro Resilience Strategy that is being carried out in Ebro river to implement Flood Risk Management Plan of the Ebro River Basin. More information can be found here.

  • SITE VISIT 4 - Modular Innovative Solutions for the efficient management of water

    There will be a visit through the ARPA factory showing how the solutions are manufactured, a showroom where there will be examples of W.A.S.H solutions and other kind of solutions deployed around the world. There will be also a brief travel through the 51 years of history of the company. More information can be found here.

  • SITE VISIT 5 - Anaergy SME Instrument Phase 2

    Ingeobras will show how the technology is being developed. The visit will take place in Maria De Luna 11, Nave 8, Zaragoza. More information can be found here.

  • SITE VISIT 6 - Visit the Cervezas Ambar Brewery

    This is the longest-standing brewery in Spain still in operation, which stands at the very heart of the city of Zaragoza, in the historic San José district. It is a living and breathing museum of beer, retaining its own malting facility from the 1930s, and its traditional fermentation vats. Every year it receives more than 10,000 visitors, eager to learn about the brewing process at first hand. More information can be found here.

  • SITE VISIT 8 - Irrigation and energy, visit to the Alto Aragón Irrigation System

    The General Irrigation Community of Alto Aragón is an organisation that brings together 135,000 hectares of irrigated land, organised into 49 Irrigation Communities. During the last 10 years it has carried out a deep transformation process towards pressurized irrigation and the production of renewable energy. It is a modernized irrigation system with high application of technology that generates renewable energy equivalent to its energy consumption. More information can be found here.

  • SITE VISIT 9 - Innovation in municipal water cycle management

    The Spanish Institution of Civil Engineers with the collaboration of the Zaragoza city council organizes a visit to the main infrastructures of the water cycle in the city, Casablanca Water Treatment Plant, La Cartuja Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and Zaragoza Urban Waste Treatment Complex (CTRUZ). Two of them are outside Zaragoza (but close) and it is necessary to move. The organizer will provide a bus for this purpose. More information can be found here.
