Universidad de Alcalá
The Universidad de Alcalá (UAH) (30,000 students; 1,800 professors and lecturers) is a public institution founded in 1499. One of Europe’s oldest universities, its influence has been felt both in hinterland and further. UAH has a very diverse scientific record, including the development of Computable General Equilibrium Models (CGEM), both static and dynamic, with specific applications to the environmental impacts of tourism and the integration of economic and hydrological variables, such as sediment transport and ecosystem response. Furthermore, much applied research work has been developed within the context of the WFD adoption process. In addition, the team has developed a research line on the economic valuation of ecosystems.
