An all AFC North affair rounds up proceedings in Week 4 of the NFL regular season, as the Pittsburgh Steelers host the Cincinnati Bengals.

Positives have been at a premium for both teams, who arrive into Monday Night Football joint bottom in their division with a 0-3 record.
Both teams came close from ending their losing streaks in Week 3, with the Steelers losing 24-20 in San Francisco against the 49ers, while the Bengals were defeated 21-17 on the road by the Buffalo Bills.

With the Baltimore Ravens leading the division with a 2-1 record, playoffs hopes for both Cincinnati and Pittsburgh are already wafer-thin and they will be almost certainly extinguished for whoever loses on Monday.

The Bengals have lost 10 of their last 11 games but coach Zac Taylor believes his team’s struggles are self-inflicted.

“We know that it’s errors that we’re bringing upon ourselves,” Taylor was quoted as saying by ESPN.

“Once we can fix that and just catch our break eventually, we’re going to be in good shape.”

The Steelers, who have gone winless in the first three games for the first since 2013 and for only the second time since 2000, are still adjusting to life after Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell.

The duo left Pittsburgh in the offseason and while their departures might have improved team morale, they also left a sizeable gap in talent.

The Steelers are yet to fill that void and losing Ben Roethlisberger for the season could exacerbate the team’s offensive struggles.

Mason Rudolph, Roethlisberger’s replacement, completed 14 of his 27 passes for a modest 174 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception.

However, he was unable to get a first down in the final drive of the defeat against the 49ers, as he was sacked on third down and threw an incompletion on fourth down.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin, however, insisted his team would not rue missed chances.

“We get ready for next week,” he told the Associated Press. “It’s as simple as that. That’s life in the National Football League. It’d be the same had we won. We’re not into the keep it together discussions. That’s not how we’re built.”
