The Oakland Raiders are skidding into Week 4 with two consecutive losses and they didn’t look very competitive in those games. They’ll try to turn their fortunes around when they face the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET on CBS and DirecTV in a Week 4 game.
The Raiders (1-2) have regressed since their win over the Denver Broncos in Week 1. Since jumping out to a 10-0 first-quarter lead against Kansas City in Week 2, the Raiders have been outscored 62-14 in the next seven quarters by Kansas City and the Minnesota Vikings in Week 3. Quarterback Derek Carr completed 50-of-72 passes for 440 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions in the last two games, but most of those yards came in garbage time and he’s being criticized for not throwing deep. It’s too bad, because he has a fantastic emerging wide receiver in Oregon native and former Western Oregon University star Tyrell Williams.
The Colts (2-1) are coming off impressive wins over the Tennessee Titans and Atlanta Falcons. Quarterback Jacoby Brissett is improving each week, but the Colts have been hit hard by injuries. Wide receiver T.Y. Hilton (quadriceps), along with linebacker Darius Leonard (concussion), look unlikely to play.
